I woke up this morning looked out the window and the cops were next door. Someone during the night stole the hood off my neighbours 2008-ish Chevy Silverado?

I've heard of tailgates getting stolen but never just the hood. I'm guessing someone was needing a hood and did not want to pay dealer price for a new one.
